The Third Street Commuter Parking deck has been closed for one week, and the City wanted to make residents and the business community aware of work scheduled for next week. You can find full information about the construction project at the link below.
Monday 8/11
Continue to remove precast panels on the east side of the garage.
Based on the progress of construction activities we will be moving the 165T crane from the east of the garage to the north side around 10 a.m. on 8/11. We will close a portion of the parking spaces and S. 2nd Street this morning to facilitate this move. It will not be a full road closure at this time.
Police support is requested to close 2nd Street for the mobilization of the 300T crane and fence placement on 2nd Street that will take place on Tuesday.
Tuesday 8/12
Close 2nd Street and mobilize the 300T crane to the north side of the garage. We will place fencing along the east/west curbs and across the north entrance of 2nd Street. Due to the type of equipment and materials that will be stored on 2nd Street, we feel that this will be the safest approach for the townhome residents. 2nd Street will remain closed until the completion of concrete activities.
Wednesday 8/13
Begin to remove panels on the north side of the garage. We will start on the east end of the garage and move west for panel removal.
We will not be lifting directly over the townhome units. In addition, we will close the east parking spaces of the south retail parking lot. These spaces will have barricades and caution tape to indicate the closure and will remain closed until Thursday afternoon.
Thursday 8/14
The crane will remain on 2nd Street and will continue with the panel removal working west. We will re-open the east parking spaces of the south retail parking lot and close the west spaces. The crane will be relocated to the west parking spaces of the retail parking lot.
Friday 8/15
Remove west precast panels on the north side of the garage.
