The Kane County Health Department is reporting that one in five residents being tested for COVID-19 are positive. Kane County is averaging more than 900 new COVID cases per day over the past week, while hospitalizations due to COVID have more than doubled over the past month.“We want to let our residents know that the potential to come into contact with someone with COVID is higher than it has ever been. We hope this information will be helpful in making decisions whether to be around others over the next few weeks,” said Kane County Board Chair Corinne Pierog. “I would like to encourage our residents to wear a mask, practice social distancing and get vaccinated.”The Kane County Health Department continues to offer a full range of COVID-19 vaccines for those 5 and older at the Kane Vax Hub in Batavia. Check KaneVax.org for availability.In addition, the health department has identified more than 90 Kane County community partners that also provide the COVID-19 vaccine.
