[ARCHIVED] Geneva Makes ‘8 Best Outdoor Dates In And Around Chicago’ List

Thrillist recently named Geneva’s Island Park one of its “8 Best Outdoor Dates In And Around Chicago.”

According to the website, “An easy one-hour Metra ride from Downtown (Chicago), a trip to Geneva checks every box on the date checklist. Bound around the beautiful, open-air park along the Fox River (which continues into the Forest Preserve), then pop into the historic downtown for dinner before grabbing a room at the Herrington Inn, where you can enjoy nature a different way by drinking mojitos on an eye-arousing back patio overlooking the river.”

Geneva made the list along with some other notable locales such as the Garfield Park Conservatory, Morton Arboretum and the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Thrillist provides its subscribers daily emails about “must-have recommendations from the best of what’s new, to deeply under-the-radar goodness” in the Chicago area and across the country.

Geneva also was recently ranked one of Illinois’ safest community by Movoto’s Real Estate Blog, and was named this spring as a top place to live by “Chicago Magazine.”
