The City is working with Geneva Construction on 14 road resurfacing and drainage projects included in the 2022 street improvement program, which started in late July and is expected to be completed in October. Here is the Aug. 4 update:
Infrastructure Work
Geneva's street improvement program moves into the next phase with underground infrastructure improvement projects starting the week of Aug. 8.
Weather permitting, the City's contractor is scheduled to start the following projects:
- Aug. 8: 216 James St. drainage
- Aug. 9-10: Britta Lane alley drainage
- Aug. 11-12: Considine Road sanitary
Sidewalk/Curb Projects
Sidewalk and curb replacement began with concrete saw cutting on Viking Drive the week of Aug. 1. The concrete will be removed on Friday, Aug. 5. Operations will then shift over to Kaneville Road later that day or Monday, Aug. 8. New concrete will be poured later next week, weather permitting.
Lilyrose Lane
One additional road resurfacing project (which is not part of the City's 2022 street improvement program) is scheduled to start next week. Weather permitting, a contractor will be milling Lilyrose Lane Aug. 8 and paving the roadway Tuesday, Aug. 9.
