Inclement weather moving through the area Aug. 8 prompted a modification in Geneva's 2022 street improvement program schedule.
Due to work being put on hold elsewhere, saw cutting began earlier than anticipated on Aug. 8 in the alley off of Manchester Course between Britta Lane and Geneva Drive. Geneva Construction crews will be removing some of the pavement in the alley Tuesday, Aug. 9 to place an 8-inch drain tile. Impacted residents received a notice from Geneva Public Works along with a project map.
Residents with garages located within the work zone will not have access to their garages on Aug. 9 and Wednesday. Aug. 10. After the drain tile is in the ground, the contractor will fill the trench with stone to allow for vehicular access until the concrete in the alley can be repaired. The City recommends parking on the street in front of your house for the next two nights. Garbage pick-up this week will remain on the normal schedule.
Other Work
Some of the work detailed in the City's Aug. 4 update was delayed temporarily due to the inclement weather Aug. 8. Operations will resume in earnest Aug. 9.
Lilyrose Lane
One additional road resurfacing project (which is not part of the City's 2022 street improvement program) is scheduled to start next week. Weather permitting, a contractor will be milling Lilyrose Lane Aug. 9 and paving the roadway Aug. 10.
