The project has been postponed since the contractor had not secured proper clearance to perform the work. The City will provide an update when more information is made available.
A new downtown Geneva restaurant needing a water connection will require a construction crew working Thursday and Friday, March 23-24, on Third Street south of Campbell Street.Mandrake is planning to move into the former Chianti's Ristorante building, 201 S. Third St, later this spring or summer. The restaurant's water connection will necessitate closing the sidewalk and some on-street parking on the block. Third Street traffic will remain open in both directions for the majority of the project but will be shifted over to accommodate the construction. There may be times when only one lane is open on Third Street, but flaggers will be present to direct motorists through the work zone.Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling down South Third Street. The schedule is subject to change due to the weather. For more information, call the Geneva Public Works Department at 630-232-1501.
