[ARCHIVED] Merchants, Volunteer Entertainers Can Sign Up For Live! Windows During Christmas Walk

Geneva storefront windows will come alive on Friday, Dec. 5 following the annual downtown tree lighting ceremony. Now in its sixth year, Live! Windows was conceived to draw more shoppers to State Street following the Christmas Walk festivities.

The City is once again seeking Geneva residents and students to serve as “window entertainers.” High school students will earn community service credit for their time. Individuals or groups who like to sing, dance or entertain, are invited to participate. Small performance arts groups and families are welcome too.

Not into dancing, singing or playing music? That is OK. Models, cookie decorators, tree trimmers and silent skits are needed. The City will match volunteers with the type of entertainment participating businesses are seeking. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Paul Evans, Geneva’s Business Development Specialist, at 630-845-9654 or email him at pevans@geneva.il.us by Friday, Nov. 14.

Due to the success of Live! Windows, the program has also been opened up to merchants on Third Street. However, models will be allocated to State Street businesses on a first-priority basis. All businesses also have the option of providing their own models.

Businesses interested in registering for Live! Windows from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 can complete this form and return it to City Hall no later than Nov. 14.
