The Geneva Public Works Department will be repairing a sanitary sewer in the 600 block of Illinois Street in August.
The City will be conducting dig repairs in the middle of the block during the week of Aug. 14 and possibly the week of Aug. 21, weather permitting, so the sanitary sewer can be lined properly in the future. Illinois Street will be closed to through traffic from Center to Union streets during the three days of construction. Residents will be able to access their driveways, but other motorists should use Richards Street as an alternate route.
Illinois Street will be open daily after 3:30 p.m. on days the City is making repairs. Local residents are not in danger of experiencing a sewer backup before the repairs are made.
