[ARCHIVED] Kane County To Replace Sidewalk and Bike Path On Kirk Road

The Kane County Division of Transportation will be removing and replacing sidewalk and the bike path along both sides of Kirk Road at the Illinois Prairie Path crossing starting the week of July 13.

Construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day for the next two weeks (weather permitting) along Kirk Road about 1,500 feet north of Averill Circle. The project will make the crossing at Kirk Road ADA compliant.

Temporary daily lane closures on Kirk Road will be required Monday through Saturday as well as the closing of the Illinois Prairie Path between East Side Drive and Kautz Road to accomplish this work. People should watch for bike path closures signs, construction crews, flaggers and reduce speed while traveling through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays, increased travel times during the project and are advised to consider alternate routes.

Questions and concerns should be directed to the Kane County Division of Transportation’s John Guddendorf at 630-816-9671. For Kane County Traffic advisories, visit the link below.
