[ARCHIVED] Geneva Police Urge Motorists To Use Caution When Driving Near Schools

With Geneva classrooms welcoming back students Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Geneva Police Department wants motorists to be mindful of children walking to school.

Police officers will have a visible presence in school zones and neighborhoods surrounding school buildings this week to watch for violations that contribute to accidents. These violations include texting while driving, talking on a cell phone while driving, speeding and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The Geneva Police Department appreciates the community’s support to assure the 2015-16 school year gets off to a safe start for everyone.
