POWER Magazine recently selected Prairie State Energy Campus as one of its Top Plants in the coal-fired power plant category. Prairie State is one of Geneva's diversified power source providers.
Based in Washington, IL, the 1,600-megawatt mine-mouth plant is the largest U.S. coal-fired plant to be built in three decades. The plant’s state-of-the-art emissions controls result in emissions that are one-fifth the national average for coal-fueled plants, making it among the cleanest power plants of its kind in the country.
