[ARCHIVED] Geneva Public Works To Hold Open House On Road Construction Program

Geneva residents are invited to an open house Tuesday, April 26 at City Hall Council Chambers, 109 James St. that will detail the City’s 2016 street improvement program.

General road construction concerns will be addressed from 6 to 7 p.m. Residents can find a street map highlighting roads scheduled to be resurfaced on the City’s website at the link below. At 7 p.m., the meeting will focus on the reconstruction, water main replacement project and drainage enhancements slated for River Lane.

Residents attending the meeting will receive detailed information on how road construction in their neighborhood will impact their daily routine and have an opportunity to ask questions to Geneva Public Works Department staff members.

The streets on the 2016 construction list will be resurfaced/repaved as the budget allows, and the parkway will be restored once work is completed. During construction, there will be no street closings for the duration, but impacted roads can expect additional downtime given the phasing of the work. Residents will be notified prior to work commencing on their street, and again a second time before driveways are disturbed.

Residents can subscribe to weekly road construction updates by visiting the City’s website and selecting the “Notify Me” button. The City’s road construction season will run from June through October.

Meeting notices were sent out to all residents who will be impacted by road construction this year. For more information about the open house or future road construction, contact Geneva Civil Engineer Elton Orozco at 630-232-1279 or corozco@geneva.il.us.
