[ARCHIVED] Nicor Meter Rerouting May Impact June Bills

Geneva residents may notice an abnormal billing amount from Nicor Gas in June as the company adjusts meter reading routes in its service territory.

Since customer bills are generated based on when a meter is read, the modifications to the route schedule may trigger a change in customer’s bill issue dates. Bills may be produced earlier or later in the month, resulting in a subsequent change in due date.

Customers are encouraged to review their next Nicor bill statement carefully and make note of their new bill delivery and due date. The change is anticipated to only impact the first bill residents receive after June 13. All future bills will be issued during the same time each month.

The routes are being modified to make sure meter reading is being done as accurately and efficiently as possible, according to the company.
