[ARCHIVED] Kane County To Seal Cracks On Kirk Road In Geneva

Starting the week of Aug. 8, the Kane County Division of Transportation (KDOT) will be crack sealing portions of several highways, including portions of Kirk Road in Geneva.

Operations will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day for about four weeks, weather permitting. Part of the program includes Kirk Road from Bank Lane in Geneva to Route 64 in St. Charles.

The crack sealing program is part of the County's comprehensive road maintenance program to increase longevity of the roads by preventing water from penetrating the road base and reducing the life of the pavement. Other roads included for work are Orchard Road from Base Line to Jericho roads and Stearns Road from Randall Road to Route 25.

The above-mentioned roads will remain open during treatment but will be reduced to one lane of travel using temporary daily lane closures. Motorists should be prepared to slow down, exercise caution and watch for flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone. Drivers are advised to expect delays while traveling through the work areas and may want to consider the use of alternate routes until the project is completed.

Questions and concerns should be directed to KDOT's David Sitko at 630-313-0754. For all Kane County traffic advisories, visit the link below.
