The Geneva Fire Department, in cooperation with the Geneva Public Works Department, will be conducting water flow tests in Geneva from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, Aug. 24-26. The operations will take place on the City’s east side from the Fox River to Kautz Road.
These tests not only provide valuable information on water supplies available for firefighting, but also are used to determine where upgrades to the water supply system may be needed.
Residents might experience rust in the water during or immediately after the testing. The water is safe; however, people should refrain from doing laundry until the water is clear. In the event that rusty water discolors clothes while being laundered, please be sure to keep the garments wet and contact the Geneva Public Works Department at 630-232-1501 to request a rust-removing solution packet.
The City appreciates everyone’s patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please contact Fire Marshal Phil Affrunti or Fire Chief Mike Antenore at 630-232-2530.
