Geneva residents will have two weeks to dispose of their live Christmas trees for free starting in January.
Trees will be collected on people’s normal garbage collection day the weeks of Jan. 6 and Jan. 13 by the City’s refuse contractor, Advanced Disposal. Residents must place their live tree at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on their scheduled collection day.
No refuse stickers will be required for this service.
Ornaments, hooks, nails, tree stands, tinsel, garland and other hard materials should be removed from the trees prior to disposal. Trees must be left unbagged at the curb.
All wreaths and roping must be discarded with the regular trash.
