[ARCHIVED] Geneva Police Urge Motorists To Use Caution When Driving Near Schools

School Zone Safety
As summer draws to a close, the Geneva Police Department wants motorists to be mindful of children walking to school starting Wednesday, Aug. 23.

Police officers will have a visible presence in school zones and neighborhoods surrounding school buildings this week to watch for violations that contribute to accidents. These violations include texting while driving, talking on a cell phone while driving, speeding and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

People can read about more back-to-school safety tips from Police Chief Eric Passerelli in the “Safety First” blog on the City’s website

The Geneva Police Department appreciates the community’s support to assure the 2017-18 school year gets off to a safe start for everyone.
