Pumpkin Recycling

Kane County is offering a free pumpkin recycling event this year, and the collection site is right here in Geneva.

The recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 4 at Pushing The Envelope Farm, 1700 Averill Road.

Jack O'Lanterns, pumpkins, and decorative squashes and gourds will be accepted for composting right on a farm. Items such as candles, yarn hair, stickers, googly eyes, plastic ears or plastic of any kind will not be accepted.

For more information, call Kane County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland at 630-208-3841 or send her an email.
