Kane County Recycles will hold a special post-holiday recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Kane County Branch Court office, 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.
Electronics collection will include computers, laptops, stereos, DVD players, electronic games, holiday light strings and more, all of which can be recycled at no charge. Books are also free to drop off. TVs (of any size, and any age) and computer monitors will also be collected, but they have a cost.
The cost for recycling television sets and computer monitors is $25 for screens under 21 inches, measured diagonally. The cost is $35 for screens 21 inches and over. You can pay onsite with cash or card.
Books also are free to drop off at the Jan. 13 recycling event.
Kane County also has 2 Electronics Recycling Drop-off locations that are open Monday through Friday every week, except for holidays. See here for the list of holiday closures.
Kane County Recycles has posted a full schedule of 2018 collection events, which will restart in April.
