| City Council | The City Council is comprised of the Mayor and 10 aldermen representing five wards in Geneva. The City Council typically meets on the first and third Mondays each month. |
| Committee of the Whole | The Mayor and aldermen have an opportunity to discuss potential ordinances, resolutions and other City business before it moves on to the City Council for an official vote. COW meets on the first and third Mondays of the month. |
| Cultural Arts Commission | The Geneva Cultural Arts Commission is a committee of residents and business owners who seek to create diverse cultural art experiences that engage the community. Commission members love the arts, are artists or local business owners who value the arts. |
| Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force | The City has affirmed its commitment to ensuring our community is open, inclusive and welcoming to all individuals. In an effort to advance this vision and amplify the voice of diverse communities within Geneva, the City established the DEI task force. |
| Fire & Police Commission | The Board of Fire and Police commissioners shall have charge of all full-time appointments to the Fire and Police departments, with the exception of the chief positions. The Board shall conduct and hold all entrance and promotional examinations. |
| Firefighters Pension Board Fund | Oversees pension issues for members of the Geneva Fire Department. |
| Geneva Foreign Fire Fund Board | This board discusses and approves projects and items of need at both of Geneva's Fire Department buildings. |
| Historic Preservation Commission | The Commission is charged with maintaining the historical integrity and visual appeal of the Historic District. The Commission bases its recommendations on the Geneva Historic Preservation Ordinance as well as federal guidelines. |
| International Cultural Exchange Committee | To promote education, understanding, and cooperation through exchanges between Geneva and partner cities in other countries and to foster international cultural exchange within the Geneva community. |
| Mental Health Board | Reviews and evaluates community mental health services and facilities, including those for the treatment of alcoholism, drug addiction, developmental disabilities, and intellectual disability. Comprised of an eight member board appointed by the Mayor. |

| Natural Resources Committee | The Natural Resource's Committee is a subcommittee of the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee. The NRC's mission is to promote awareness and conservation principles in Geneva. |
| Planning and Zoning Commission | The Commission ensures the City's plans, goals, policies, land use ordinances and regulations are promoting orderly and coordinated development within Geneva. The panel makes recommendations to the City Council, as well as rules on variation requests. |
| Police Pension Fund Board | Panel deals with issues regarding pensions for the Geneva Police Department officers. |
| Strategic Plan Advisory Committee | The purpose and intent of the Committee is to preserve the life of the Strategic Plan document by prioritizing strategic communal goals, conveying them to City staff and elected officials, and where possible, assisting in their implementation. |
