The Economic Development Department is responsible for all areas of economic development including business attraction and retention and managing efforts to support the future growth of the City.
The Department creates strategies and programs that aim to diversify the tax base, to promote private/public partnerships, and to stimulate investment. The Department implements the policies and goals adopted by the City Council involving the continued development and redevelopment of the City. The Department also works to enhance Geneva as a destination and to promote the City as a desirable place to live, work, visit, operate a business or hold a special event. Working with organizers to plan and promote special events, the Department manages the multi-departmental permit review process. The Department works with the Geneva Chamber of Commerce to attract visitors and promote business and serves as a liaison to the Cultural Arts Commission. Come Explore Geneva.
