The Mental Health Board is comprised of Geneva residents concerned with the mental health of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental illness or substance abuse. The mission statement outlines the board's strategic plan goals and objectives.
With the consent of the City Council, seven members are appointed by the Mayor, and each serve a four-year term. Restrictions of this board state that no more than one representative of the City Council may be a member and no member shall be an employee, board member, or individual receiving compensation from the Illinois Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities or the Illinois Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.
