Alex Voigt was named Geneva's City Administrator in 2025, bringing 15 years of municipal experience serving in a variety of leadership positions with the City of Aurora.
As the City's Chief Administrative Officer, the City Administrator supervises all department heads and prepares the annual budget for the City Council's approval. The City Administrator’s Office is responsible for the management and administration of all City operations, including communications and business and liquor licensing.
Voigt has more than 10 years of experience in government administration, most recently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff for Illinois’ second-largest city. She worked closely with elected officials (city, state and federal), city staff, municipal advisory boards, and residents.
She has a strong background in research, development and implementation of municipal policies and community engagement.
Before being named Deputy Chief of Staff, Voigt earned promotions with the City of Aurora, serving as Assistant to the Mayor, Management Analyst, Interim Emergency Management Coordinator, and twice as Interim City Clerk.
Voigt holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and will soon receive her certificate of Executive Education from the Harvard Kennedy School.
