Destination Geneva Grant Program

The Destination Geneva Grant Program is designed to maintain and improve Geneva’s destination appeal by providing reimbursement for special events that result in increased visits, overnight stays and innovative experiences. An application packet is available online.

Here are the events funded through the City's grant program in 2025, all of which are free to attend.

Earth Made Market

Saturday, Sept. 9

Grow and Crystal Life collaborated to bring a one-day outdoor event celebrating locally made, nature inspired goods. The event was designed to attract both residents and visitors to downtown Geneva by offering a unique, curated market experience rooted in sustainability, creativity and community. 

Autumn Fest

Friday, Oct. 3

Celebrate local merchants at the seventh annual Autumn Fest Jack-o-Lantern Walk from 4 to 8 p.m. The self-guided walk features a pumpkin carving artist and family-friendly fun. The event won second place for best festival in Kane County in Shaw Media's 2025 "Best of the Fox" Readers' Choice Awards. 

Thriller On 38

Saturday, Oct. 11

Organized by Vargo Dance in collaboration with local restaurants and bars, Thriller on 38 is more than a dance performance - it is a community-wide celebration combining the arts, fitness and public performance in a family friendly format. The seventh annual Thriller on 38 runs from 4 to 9 p.m. 

Artists Sunday Road Rally

Sunday, Nov. 30

The Geneva Foundation for the Arts will host the first Artists Sunday Road Rally as part of the Artists Sunday movements. Visitors will enjoy a self-curated route of art studios, galleries, shops and creative businesses in Geneva. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A list of participating artists and a digital map can be found online.
