Student Government Committee

About the Student Government Committee

The City's Strategic Advisory Committee has had a Geneva High School liaison serve on SPAC to get insight from our teen population. Now that effort has been expanded into a SPAC subcommittee to provide more opportunities for high school students to learn about their local government.

The Committee also helps plan for the Geneva High School Student Government Day, which is held twice a year. Students shadow employees from across the City (City Hall, Public Works, Police, Fire, Finance, Economic Development and Community Development) to learn their role within our organization. In the afternoon session, students will participate in either a mock City Council meeting or a roundtable to discuss City issues.

The Committee

The Student Government Committee meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month (during the school year) in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 109 James St.
