More than 2,600 Geneva west side customers lost power March 31 during a storm that knocked down an electric pole.
The service disruption began at 8:08 p.m. The outage area was generally west of the Fox River including the downtown, Anderson Boulevard and neighborhoods around Geneva High School.
The Geneva Public Works Department redistributed customers to other substations to restore service by 8:26 p.m. until ComEd could repair the pole.
Another 4,100 west side customers briefly lost power after a ComEd line running through Geneva was impacted by the storm. The disruption was minimal in nature as the line opened and reclosed automatically. The service location was west of the Fox River, south of South Street as well as the Fisher Farms and Randall Square subdivisions.
As a reminder, residents should report outages occurring after hours and on weekends to the Geneva Police Department non-emergency number at 630-232-4736. Police will then dispatch the on-call Public Works personnel. The City does not monitor social media channels and the online request system 24 hours a day.
