Twenty-one customers lost power starting at 9:35 a.m. May 24 on east side of Geneva.

The outage was triggered by a broken cutout, which is a combination of a fuse and switch used in primary overhead feeder lines to protect distribution transformers from current surges and overloads. The impacted homes were on South Harrison, Spring and Chalmers streets.

The Geneva Public Works Department de-energized the primary feeder and replaced the cutout. Power was restored 16 customers by 10:50 a.m. and the remaining five homes were brought back online at 1:10 p.m.
