The Geneva Public Works Department responded to a power outage Oct. 16 on the west side of Geneva.

Nineteen customers lost service at 9:45 p.m. due to an underground cable fault that impacted homes on South Street, Cooper Lane, Rosenfelder Court, Southhampton Court, and Burgess Road. The Public Works Electric Division replaced a fuse and energized the line to restore power.

Sixteen customers were brought back online from 12:30 to 1 a.m. Oct. 17. The remaining three customers had electricity again at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 17.

As a reminder, residents should report outages after hours and on weekends to the Geneva Police Department non-emergency number at 630-232-4736. Police will then dispatch the on-call Public Works personnel. The City does not monitor social media channels and the online request system 24 hours a day.
