Powering Up

Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on the our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

[ARCHIVED] North River Lane To Be Closed For Rooftop HVAC Installation

The original item was published from October 2, 2023 4:47 PM to November 3, 2023 12:00 AM

River Lane north of State Street (Route 38) will be closed Wednesday, Oct. 4 as a private contractor replaces a commercial rooftop HVAC unit.

A half block of North River Lane will be shut down to provide space for a crane to help install the unit. Drivers traveling on State Street will not be able to turn north on River Lane Oct. 4 and will need to use Route 31 as an alternate route.

The parking lots behind Buttermilk and FoxFire restaurants will remain open to the public.

The project is expected to last one day, weather permitting. For more information, call the Geneva Public Works Department at 630-232-1501.
