More than 30 Geneva customers lost power Feb. 14 after an underground cable fault occurred on the City’s west side.
The outage began at 9:58 p.m. and impacted customers on Samantha Circle, Lewis Road, Sterling Avenue, Caldwell Lane and Old Mill Court.
Geneva Public Works crews were able to isolate the bad section of cable and switch customers to another power source. Service was restored in stages for the 32 impacted customers from 12:25 a.m. to 12:50 a.m. Feb. 15.
As a reminder, customers can report power outages after hours by calling the Geneva Police Department’s non-emergency number at 630-232-4736. The City's online request system and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
