Two strong storms struck Geneva July 14 and 15 causing extensive tree damage and numerous power outages. The community showed their appreciation to the Geneva Public Works Department for their dedicated response in less than ideal conditions, which included a significant heat wave following the storms.

I was without power for a long time last night, but I know (Public Works crews) were working hard in some terrible conditions. Thank you to your entire team for being out there when no one else wanted to be. This is when our public servants count the most

I would like to express my gratitude to the city of Geneva and its public employees for the prompt response to the twin storms that we recently experienced. Fallen trees and broken branches were cut down, streets cleared, and power restored efficiently. Whatever we needed, the community had alternative solutions. We bought ice for the fridge. We went to the library to use the computer and charge our cell phones and take shelter from the next storm. The library staff was kind enough to let us stay past their closing. I never heard anyone complain. It was a bad, unusual and unpredictable incident. Thank God we had water and there were no injuries. I am so happy to be part of this community

Thank you for your quick and efficient service in addressing broken branches from a City parkway tree that were hanging down over the driveway after two severe thunderstorms.

Definitely thanked the men that came to our neighborhood 30 minutes ago. Be kind to these heroes today. Working in this heat under so much pressure is not easy.

Thank you to the Electric Division and Rantoul/Princeton for getting the power restored. With the kind of weather we had last night, we are extremely lucky with the relatively short power outage duration.
Maureen F.
Thank you to all the crews that had to endure the dangerous weather over the past two days to repair outages.
