Five customers experienced a power outage Dec. 7 on the west side of Geneva.

The incident occurred at 10:27 a.m. when a squirrel made contact with a power line. The outage area was limited to the 400 block of Grant Avenue.

The Geneva Public Works Department refused and re-energized the line to restore service by 11 a.m.

As a reminder, Geneva residents should report after-hours or weekend power outages to the Geneva Police Department by calling 630-232-4736. Police will then dispatch the appropriate Public Works staff to respond to the incident. Our online request tracker system and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
