Summer has arrived. As we see an increase in both pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout Geneva, this is a good time to review some driving safety tips.
- Do not use your phone unless it is handsfree. Distracted driving is a factor in many traffic crashes;
- Stop for pedestrians who are in the crosswalk;
- Follow the posted speed limit. The vast majority of roadways within Geneva are 25 mph unless posted otherwise;
- Wear your seatbelt; and
- Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. There are many transportation alternatives available.
Following these basic safety tips can assist us in reducing the likelihood of a traffic crash. Thank you and have a great summer.
