Downtown Geneva merchants are coming together for the sixth annual Autumn Fest Geneva Self-Guided Jack-O’-Lantern Walk from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.
The event coincides with the merchant-organized First Fridays where many local businesses and restaurants will be staying open later this evening with exclusive in-store specials or highlighting new fall arrivals/food & drink menu specials at participating restaurants.
Eighty downtown Geneva merchants will be displaying glowing Jack-O’-Lanterns in their windows or outside their businesses for families to stroll around town and vote on their favorites in seven different categories.
A digital interactive map has been created with a QR code for guests to easily scan on their phones to see all the participating local merchants.
Patrons can start their night at the "Autumn Fest Headquarters" on the front lawn of the Kane County Courthouse at Third and James streets. There will be a fall-themed photo-op area display that evening for guests to have their photos taken. A new free attraction added this year will be a pumpkin carving artist who will be carving a 150-pound pumpkin on the courthouse lawn from 5 to 6:40 p.m. Candy and toys will be handed out while supplies last.
This evening is intended to be a community-driven, family-friendly self-fuided Jack-O’-Lantern Walk. Many merchants will be decorating their storefront windows to create a festive fall atmosphere for patrons to enjoy while browsing the downtown shops and restaurants.
