However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on the our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

[ARCHIVED] Delnor Hospital Water Main Project - Sept. 25 Update

The City of Geneva is replacing a water main near the Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital Health & Fitness Center. See the construction web page for a project map and more information.

Sept. 25 Update

The new water main has been installed, pressure-tested and chlorinated near the hospital fitness center. During the week of Sept. 29, the contractor will be connecting the fitness center to the new water infrastructure.

The connection process will temporarily disrupt water service to the fitness center. The contractor will be providing advanced notice to the fitness center staff before work begins.

After the connection is completed, the remaining work includes a secondary water main connection (which will not impact water services) along with pavement and grass restoration. The project is expected to be completed in October.
