The Autumn Fest Geneva Self-Guided Jack-O’-Lantern Walk will light up downtown Geneva from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct 3. This free, cherished community tradition, organized by Kristen Cornelio brings together local businesses, residents, and visitors for a festive fall evening filled with glowing Jack-O’-Lanterns, family-friendly activities, and community spirit.
A Tri-Cities local and founder of Kristen Holly, LLC, Kristen launched Autumn Fest Geneva as a way to celebrate the small businesses at the heart of the community. Now in its seventh year, the event continues to grow and was recently voted “One of the Best” Festivals in Kane County for the first time.
This year, Kristen is dedicating the event to the memory of her father, Michael Sommerfeld, who passed away on Aug. 18 after a battle with cancer. To honor her father, Kristen has prepared 70 Jack-O’-Lantern gift bags filled with gift cards from participating merchants. These special gift bags will be randomly awarded to visitors who shop or dine at participating locations during Autumn Fest.
Autumn Fest would not be possible without the continued support from the collaboration of merchants helping it grow each year. Presenting Sponsor: State Street Jewelers, Co-Presenting Sponsor: Brush and Restore. With special thanks to the City of Geneva for supporting Autumn Fest through its new Destination Geneva Grant program.
The festivities will coincide with Geneva’s First Fridays, when many shops and restaurants stay open late with special promotions and seasonal menu offerings.
This year’s Autumn Fest will feature a record-breaking 90 participating merchants throughout downtown Geneva, each creating their own glowing Jack-O’-Lantern displays for visitors to discover and vote on.
