Powering Up

"Power
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

[ARCHIVED] Make Geneva Your Shopping Destination For Small Business Saturday

The original item was published from November 21, 2025 9:35 AM to November 21, 2025 9:49 AM

With more than 100 locally owned shops and 50 restaurants, downtown Geneva is the perfect shopping stop for Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29, and beyond this holiday season.

Use the Explore Geneva Map to find new destinations for gifts, food, and more.

Started in 2010, Small Business Saturday was created to recognize the importance that independent retailers play in our local economy. Shopping in Geneva not only supports a local store but also helps maintain a vibrant downtown district. The City reinvests the sales tax money it receives back into the community by funding infrastructure improvements and providing high-quality municipal services.

Enjoy the holiday season, and thank you for shopping locally in Geneva.
