Powering Up

"Power
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

Have you heard the exciting news that Storybook Café opened Dec. 21.

This family-owned cafe will be bringing ceremonial-grade matcha, specialty espresso drinks, and locally baked pastries (one of the local bakeries is Gather Bakery) to Dodson Place. We love seeing merchants in the community collaborating together.

How it all began: Inspired by a trip to Kyoto, Japan, this family-owned café is built on a love of matcha, ethical sourcing, and creating a space where the community can slow down and connect.

Season Winter drink sips to cozy up with include:

  • Sugar cookie matcha (hot or iced)
  • Peppermint bark latte

The business, located at 407 S. Third St., Suite 150, will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
