[ARCHIVED] Geneva Film Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The Geneva Film Festival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with cinema enthusiasts when the curtain rises Friday & Saturday, March 9 to 10.

The program includes narrative shorts and features, documentary shorts and features, animated shorts, musical shorts and student shorts. The festival also features films made by recipients of the Emerging Cinematographers Award sponsored by the International Cinematographers Guild. Movie viewing locations will be held at Playhouse 38, 321 Stevens St., Suite P; and Penrose Brewing Co., 509 Stevens St.

This year, nine countries are represented in the festival — Belgium, United Kingdom, India, Spain, Switzerland, Egypt, Russia, Canada and the United States.

A Filmmakers Forum will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 10 at Craft Urban restaurant, 211 James St. The event is free to festival attendees.

Craft Urban also will be home to the “It’s a Wrap” party at 9:30 p.m. March 10.  A photo booth and music are planned and a cash bar will be available. Seating at both the Filmmakers Forum and the Wrap Party is limited so it is requested that festival attendees RSVP to FranYoshioka@me.com.
