[ARCHIVED] City Flag Lowered For Longtime Crossing Guard

City Hall Flag Lowered

The Geneva flag at City Hall has been lowered in memory of Cynthia (Cindy) Naughton, who helped keep children safe for 23 years working as a school crossing guard in the community.

Ms. Naughton, 63, died Jan. 24 in her home in Geneva. She raised two children with her husband and served as a Geneva crossing guard from 1994-2017. Her obituary can be found online.

Mayor Kevin Burns will start the Feb. 4 Geneva City Council meeting with a moment of silence in Ms. Naughton's honor. The flag will remain lowered through the morning Tuesday, Feb. 5.

The City of Geneva extends its condolences to the Naughton family for its loss.
