[ARCHIVED] Police Respond To Fatal Crash On Kautz Road

Geneva Police units, along with the Geneva and West Chicago Fire Departments, responded at 2:46 p.m. Aug. 18 to the 0-99 block of Kautz Road for a single vehicle motorcycle crash with injuries.

The initial investigation determined the driver, James R. Stevens, 58, of St. Charles, of a 1985 Honda motorcycle was turning northbound onto Kautz Road from Illinois Route 38 when he, for unknown reasons, lost control of his motorcycle. The motorcycle left the roadway on the west side of Kautz Road and struck a tree.

Mr. Stevens was transported to Central DuPage Hospital by the West Chicago Fire Department where, sadly, he was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Geneva Police Department
