He was a First Ward Alderman from 1989-1993 and also served as the chair of the City's Safety Committee and on the Police and Fire Commission.

Mr. Anderson was a dedicated community volunteer being involved in the Geneva Lions Club, Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Delnor Hospital, and the United Methodist Church of Geneva. He was named parade marshall of the Geneva Swedish Days parade in 1992. More information about Mr. Anderson's community service and accomplishments can be found in his obituary online.
