[ARCHIVED] RiverPark Summer Concert Series Brings Family Fun To Geneva

RiverPark Summer Concert Series 2019

Geneva’s RiverPark Summer Concert Series returns to provide four free nights of entertainment along the Fox River.

The concerts will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 10, 17, and 24 at River Park, located at North River Lane and Peyton Street just north of State Street. The programs, which will take place at the park’s stone amphitheater, are sponsored by the City of Geneva’s Cultural Arts Commission.

The Illinois Brass Band opens the series with a celebratory Independence Day performance on July 3, a perfect time to commemorate our nation’s birthday. Attendees will enjoy John Phillip Sousa’s marches, military songs, Broadway, and popular tunes, as well as other beloved orchestra renditions.

The Dixon Bandits, a “Smokin’ Hot Southern Rock Band,” brings the influences of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, and other classic rockers to the stage on July 10. The six-member band plays plenty of favorite songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, and more.

Good Clean Fun Band will deliver an exciting, engaging show on July 17 featuring a playlist of party hits spanning seven decades. The group has quickly become one of the region’s most requested party bands after playing across the United States as well as Ireland, Trinidad, and Thailand. More recently, Good Clean Fun has shared the bill with top oldies acts like Jay and the Americans and Chubby Checker, and it has opened for Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers and Tommy James and the Shondells.

Chez Butter, a dynamic five-piece band that plays soul, funk, Motown, R&B, and jazz, will round out the concert series on July 24 with a variety of upbeat music. The band’s fun-loving style of soul keeps crowds up and moving at a wide variety of events throughout the Chicago region.

All shows are free of charge. People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket, or even a picnic dinner to enjoy a beautiful evening along the Fox River. In case of inclement weather, performances will be held at United Methodist Church of Geneva Fellowship Hall, 211 Hamilton St.
