The first measurable snow of the season is possible this weekend Nov. 15 & 16. Whether or not the snow actually occurs, the Geneva Police Department believe this is a good time to remind residents of some basic winter weather tips.

* Wear your seatbelt.
* Slow down and drive defensively.
* Completely clear windows of snow, ice and frost before driving.
* Have a mechanic check over your car to get it ready for winter elements.
* If snowplows are on the roadways, please leave plenty of space between your cars and the trucks.

The first sticking snow of the season can be challenging for motorists. Please drive carefully.
