[ARCHIVED] Geneva Police Training Exercises Start Feb. 26

Police News - New Car

The Geneva Police Department plans to conduct training from Monday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March 8 at a home in the 700 block of Fargo Boulevard.

The training, which will held in breakout sessions, will focus on a potential response to an emergency situation where officers need to clear and assess rooms for an armed person. The training is not expected to disrupt the neighborhood; however, police officers plan on using simunition rounds (similar to paintballs) to simulate a violent threat. No vehicle sirens will be activated and live weapons will not be fired.

Signage will be posted in the residence's driveway, and safety officers will be on-site both weeks. Most of the training exercises are expected to occur during daylight hours.

The Geneva Police Department appreciates the public’s understanding as officers participate in this important training exercise.
