Construction crews will be replacing lead water service lines Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 4-5 in the 400 block of Dodson Street.
The roadway will be shut down at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 4 from School to Woodlawn streets to prepare the work site for construction (See construction map). Dodson Street will be reopened by the end of business Sept. 4 and will have metal plates covering holes on the street.
The same block of Dodson Street will be closed to traffic at 7:15 a.m. Sept. 5 as the water service lines are replaced. The City is expecting the project can be completed before students are dismissed from Harrison Street School.
School, Jefferson and Woodlawn streets will remain open during construction as will Dodson Street east of Woodlawn Street. Parents should allow extra time and consider alternate routes driving/walking to and from Harrison Street School for the next two days.
The schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change. For more information, call the Geneva Public Works Department Water Division at 630-232-1551.
