[ARCHIVED] Kane County Highway Work Includes Randall Road, Fabyan Parkway

The Kane County 2015 Crack Sealing program will begin on Randall Road the week of June 8.

During the next four weeks, the program involves filling and sealing roadway cracks on various County roads to extend the life of the pavement. The entire stretch of Randall Road running through Geneva is the first project on the County’s list.

Randall Road will remain open during treatment with temporary lane closures in one direction at a time. Motorists should add additional time to their commutes, expect delays, watch for construction activity, and obey flaggers while traveling through the work areas. Motorists may want to consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.

Questions or concerns may be directed to David Sitko, the Kane County Division of Transportation, at 630-313-0754.

Kane County’s Division of Transportation will be making pavement preservation improvements this summer that will include segments of Fabyan Parkway in Geneva.

Starting the week of June 8, construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day the next six weeks to complete work on 12 roadways throughout the county, weather permitting. Work on cape sealing Fabyan Parkway will take place toward the end of the project from outside the City limits (Millcreek Drive) to Randall Road.

The cape seal process will include:

• Placement of oil and limestone chips over existing pavement for minimum of 4 days;

• Placement of finish surface (micro surface) over the oil and limestone chips application; and

• Restriping of the roadways once asphalt is completed.

Fabyan Parkway will remain open during construction but will require temporary daily lane closures Monday through Saturday to accomplish this work. Please watch for fresh oil signs, flaggers, and reduce speed while traveling through the construction zone. Motorists should expect delays, increased travel times are advised to consider alternate routes during the project.

Questions and concerns may be directed to John Guddendorf, Kane County Division of Transportation, at 630-816-9671.
