[ARCHIVED] New Geneva Arts Fundraiser Serving Up An Evening Full Of Masterpieces For The Mouth, Eyes And Soul

Geneva’s Cultural Arts Commission has unveiled a brand new fundraiser event scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20 that will pair artistic inspiration with fine dining and wine.

Tickets are now on sale for “Eat Your Art Out!,” which will be held next month at the Herrington Inn & Spa Pump House, 15 S. River Lane. The Herrington’s Executive Chef Jason Tsoris will be creating culinary masterpieces as part of a four-course meal that will be based off exquisite original local art. The night begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner and live auction from 7 to 9 p.m.

Featured artwork created by painter Len Bielefeldt, sculptor Larry Johnson, glass artisans Don and Ellen Ljung, and painter Jan Schmuckal will be on display throughout the evening and available to purchase during the live auction. Additional art pieces will be sold during the fundraiser. Sponsorships also are available.

Tickets for this premier event are $100 and are available to purchase online (see link below), by phone at 630-938-4530 or by mail at Geneva Cultural Arts Commission, P.O. Box 537, Geneva, IL 60134. Seating is limited.

“Eat Your Art Out!” replaces the popular “Dancing With Geneva Stars,” which had served as the commission’s annual fundraiser for the last five years. Proceeds from these events fund the group’s mission for creating diverse cultural arts experiences that engage the community.

Founded in 2006, the City of Geneva’s Cultural Arts Commission is a committee of residents and business owners who are either artists or have a passion for the field. The commission also hosts a number of community events throughout the year including the Geneva Film Festival, fine arts studio tour by the Greater Geneva Art Guild, Shakespeare in the Park, the RiverPark Summer Concert Series and the Steeple Walk.
