A City contractor will be performing a parkway tree inventory throughout Geneva during the next several months.
Beginning in late February, residents may see Graff Tree Care, Inc. crews walking through the parkways counting and evaluating the health of the City's parkway trees. The company will be putting together a management plan for the City that addresses both short and long-term care for the parkway trees. The inventory study also will pinpoint potential opportunities to plant new parkway trees.
All Graff crew members will be carrying identification with them as they inspect the trees. The inventory is expected to be completed by the end of May.
The previous tree inventory was completed in 2000 before the Fischer Farms and Sunset Prairie subdivisions were built. The Geneva City Council approved the tree inventory at its Feb. 20 meeting.
