[ARCHIVED] City's Free Leaf Bag Program Continues In December

Leaves

With the curbside leaf collection finished for the year, Geneva residents still can dispose of any remaining leaves for free through the City's bag program.

Leaves can be placed in brown yard waste bags. Refuse stickers are not required, but bags must only contain leaves. Yard waste, brush, mulch or grass clippings mixed with leaves will not be accepted. Bags should be left at the curb on residents’ regular garbage day to be picked up by Lakeshore Recycling. The bag program runs through December.

Kramer Tree Specialists completed the second cycle of curbside leaf collection on Dec. 14. Given the inclement weather that delayed the curbside program this fall, the third/final pickup has been postponed until March 2019. The City will post schedule details on its website when information becomes available.

For more information about Geneva's refuse and recycling services, call the Geneva Public Works Department at 630-232-1501 or visit the City's website.
